ProVia Storm Door Installation in St. Louis

A storm door is a second door that hangs in front of your entry door. It takes the rain, wind and sun so the entry door does not have to, and with its screen in place it lets fresh air through. ProVia builds five of them in aluminum: Spectrum, Decorator, Deluxe, DuraGuard and SuperView.
ProVia counts STL Windows and Doors among its Platinum Dealers and certified installers. Our own crew hangs storm doors on new entry doors, on doors we put in years ago, and on doors another company installed.
Each door is built to your opening, in heights up to 8 feet. You pick the line, the style, the glass, the color and the hardware. The installation itself carries our 10-year workmanship warranty.
Do you need one? A storm door earns its place on an entry that faces the weather. It helps on a front door you want to leave open for air, and on any door a dog or a toddler leans on.
STORM DOOR KEY FEATURES
Five lines, one aluminum recipe. Every ProVia storm door we hang is built this way.
Thicker Aluminum
The aluminum walls run up to 20% thicker than the industry standard, so the door stays rigid and does not twist.
Built to 8 Feet
Made to your opening in heights up to 8 feet, not pulled from a rack in one standard size.
Reinforced Kick Panel
A rust-resistant aluminum panel at the bottom takes the knocks from feet, paws and packages on four of the five lines.
Screens Included
A screen comes with every line except Decorator, where it is an option. On Spectrum the screen rolls away inside the door.
Triple Bottom Sweep
Three fins along the bottom edge close the gap at the sill and stop drafts.
Corners That Stay Square
Corrosion-proof gussets, corner keys and a multi-hollow frame hold the door square year after year.
Factory Finish for Life
Paint is baked onto the aluminum at the factory, and ProVia warrants that finish for as long as you own the door.
Pairs for French Doors
Decorator, Deluxe and DuraGuard come as a matched pair for a French door or a double entry door.
ProVia backs the door with a transferable Lifetime Limited Warranty that passes to the next owner of your home. Your installation is backed for 10 years.
THE FIVE PROVIA STORM DOORS WE INSTALL
All five share the thick aluminum walls, tempered safety glass and the factory finish. They differ in the screen, the glass, the frame and the price.

Spectrum Retractable Screen Storm Door
Spectrum is the retractable screen storm door. One screen rolls down from the top of the door and another rolls up from the bottom, and both roll back out of sight when you want full glass. You get air at the top, at the bottom, or both.
It comes in full view, three-quarter view and half view. The closer uses an air release, so the door shuts in one smooth motion without the slow bounce older closers had.
- Top and bottom InVent retractable screens, included
- Seven styles in full, three-quarter and half view
- Reinforced, rust-resistant aluminum kick panel
- The heaviest frame of the five, 1-1/4 by 4-3/16 inches
- Art glass or privacy glass, 20 paint colors
- Mortise hardware, keyed to match a ProVia entry door

Decorator Full Glass Storm Door
Decorator is the full-glass storm door with the dressed-up glass. Beveled, stained, privacy or tinted glass runs the whole height of the door, and a spring-loaded lock holds the glass flush so it does not rattle or leak air.
A full screen with a stabilizer bar is an option, and the 590 style comes 8 feet tall. It is the one line without a kick panel, because the glass reaches the bottom rail.
- Three styles: 590, 591 and 595
- Beveled and art glass designs, privacy and tinted glass
- Optional full screen with a horizontal stabilizer bar
- Insulated frame core as standard
- Internal locks hold the glass, no rattles
- Available as a pair for French doors

Deluxe Storm Door
Deluxe has the most styles of the five, eleven of them, in full, three-quarter or half glass, with divided lites on some. The screen is self-storing: it slides up into the door for winter and back down for summer, so nothing goes in the garage.
It is the all-round pick, with a BetterVue fiberglass screen, color-matched hinges, closer and bottom expander, and pet door options.
- Eleven styles, the widest choice in the lineup
- Self-storing BetterVue fiberglass screen
- Reinforced or dent-resistant kick panel options
- Heights to 8 feet and French door pairs
- Art glass or privacy glass, 20 paint colors
- Pet door option

DuraGuard Heavy-Duty Screen Door
DuraGuard is the screen door for a house with dogs or small children. The screen is .023-gauge stainless steel in a 12 by 12 mesh, and on most styles it does not come out. A glass insert drops in behind it for winter.
It keeps the thick aluminum walls, the kick panel and the triple bottom sweep, and comes with black contemporary curve hardware.
- Seven styles, with non-removable stainless steel screens
- Removable glass insert or self-storing screen, by style
- Triple bottom sweep
- Privacy glass option, 20 paint colors
- Black contemporary curve hardware
- Available as a pair for French doors

SuperView Storm Door
SuperView keeps the choice short. Five full-view styles, five colors, a BetterVue screen on every one, and a pull handle in black or white. It is the lowest-priced ProVia storm door.
The frame is the lightest of the five, 1-1/4 by 2-5/8 inches. An insulated core is standard, and a triple seal sweep closes the bottom.
- Five styles, 895 to 899, all with a screen
- Five colors: Snow Mist, Café Cream, Tudor Brown, Rustic Bronze and Coal Black
- Triple seal bottom sweep
- Insulated frame core as standard
- Privacy glass option
- Pull handle in black or white

STORM DOOR COLORS
ProVia builds storm doors in 33 colors, in two sets: 20 standard and 13 trending. Spectrum, Decorator, Deluxe and DuraGuard come in every one; SuperView comes in five standard colors: Snow Mist, Café Cream, Tudor Brown, Rustic Bronze and Coal Black. The paint goes on at the ProVia factory with a computer-run electrostatic system, then bakes in an oven, which is why the finish carries a Lifetime Warranty. Tap any swatch to see it larger.
A color on a phone or a monitor is never quite the color on the door. Your project consultant brings real painted samples to the estimate, so pick from those before you order.
STORM DOOR HARDWARE
Mortise hardware is the upgrade worth asking about. A multi-point mortise lock throws bolts at more than one point along the edge, and it can be keyed to your ProVia entry door, so one key opens both. It fits Spectrum, Decorator, Deluxe and DuraGuard. SuperView takes a pull handle in black or white.
Six finishes are available, by hardware style. The multi-point and single-point sets match a ProVia entry door, so the whole front door reads as one piece.
Hardware Finishes
The six finishes your storm door hardware comes in. Pick one to match the handle on your entry door.

STORM DOOR GLASS AND ACCESSORIES
Clear tempered safety glass is standard on all five lines. From there you can dress the door up with decorative or privacy glass and add the hardware extras that suit your home.
Glass Options
Art Glass
Decorative glass with a leaded or beveled pattern, in ProVia designs like Americana, to dress up the entry. Spectrum, Decorator and Deluxe.
Privacy Glass
Obscured glass, such as Obscure Pebble, that lets light through but blurs the view. Offered on all five lines.
Accessories
Freedom Pet Door
A PetSafe Freedom pet door built into the bottom panel, so the dog lets itself out.
Piano Hinge
An anodized satin nickel hinge the full height of the door, for a door that hangs straight for years.
Bottom Expander
A satin nickel expander at the sill that closes the gap on an opening that is not quite square.
Dual Closers
Two closers, color-matched to the door, so a heavy or tall door shuts evenly.
ADDING A STORM DOOR TO AN ENTRY DOOR WE DID NOT INSTALL
We hang most storm doors over an entry door we did not install, and it usually works well. What it needs is a solid, properly sized surface to mount to, which is the exterior trim around your entry door, often the brickmold.
On older St. Louis homes that wood can be rotted, split, pulled loose, or too thin to carry a door that opens and closes every day. When it is, the opening needs a little work first, and that can add some labor and materials. Your project consultant checks all of it at the estimate and goes over anything we find with you before a door is ordered.
If the entry door or its frame is in rough shape, we will say so, because a new entry door is the better move than a storm door over a problem opening. Whatever we hang has to be secure, close and latch the way it should, and be something we stand behind for ten years.
A storm door hangs on the exterior trim around your entry door, often the brickmold, so that surface has to be sound.
WHAT DRIVES THE COST OF STORM DOOR INSTALLATION

A storm door installed is priced by the door and by the opening. Six things set the number:
- The line: SuperView is the lowest priced, Spectrum and Decorator the highest
- Size: an 8-foot door costs more than a standard height
- Glass: art glass and privacy glass cost more than clear glass
- Hardware: a multi-point mortise lock costs more than a pull handle
- A French door pair is two doors, built and hung as a set
- The opening: a sound mounting surface costs less than one that needs repair first
Your written estimate includes the door built to your opening, the hardware, installation by our own crew, haul-away of the old storm door, and the 10-year workmanship warranty. A storm door off a store shelf comes in a few stock sizes, and the store that sells it is rarely the one that hangs it.
Pay by cash and save with our cash discount. Same-as-cash financing is offered through GreenSky, EnerBank USA and Aqua. The in-home estimate is free and carries no obligation.
HOW A STORM DOOR INSTALLATION GOES
Four steps. Most storm doors are hung in a few hours on installation day.
Talk with a Pro
Call or send the form for a free estimate. A project consultant phones you to pick a day, then comes to the house. We serve five counties: St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Franklin and Lincoln.
Onsite Assessment
The consultant measures the entry door opening, checks the brickmold and trim the storm door will mount to, and confirms the hinge side and the swing. You see the five lines with their colors, glass and hardware, and settle on one.
Your Estimate
You get the price and the installation details in writing. Once you sign and leave a deposit, our measure and installation tech comes back for a second measure, and the door goes on order with ProVia.
Installation Day
The crew hangs the door, sets the closer and the sweep, fits the hardware and shows you how the screen and the lock work. On a home built before 1978 the crew works lead-safe, which we hold the license for.

WHY WE INSTALL PROVIA STORM DOORS
ProVia builds each storm door to order in Ohio and backs it with a transferable Lifetime Limited Warranty that passes to the next owner of your home. On ProVia’s dealer list, STL Windows and Doors holds Platinum Dealer and certified installer status. Andy Lombardozzi founded the company in 2014, it is still family owned, and our own crews hang every door. Every installation we do is covered by our 10-year workmanship warranty.
WHEN A NEW ENTRY DOOR IS THE BETTER CHOICE
A storm door protects a sound entry door. It cannot fix one that is rotted, warped or leaking at the frame. When the consultant finds that at the estimate, we say so: the new entry door comes first, and the storm door goes on it afterward.
See our fiberglass entry doors, steel entry doors and French doors, all ProVia, all installed by the same crew.
