Stained fiberglass entry door with an arched top panel on a golden stucco wall

ProVia door colors are 33 paint colors, up to 20 stains and 7 glazes, with hardware finishes to match. Every paint fits all three entry door lines: Signet, Ascent and Legacy. Stains and glazes depend on the line and the skin you pick, and ProVia finishes each door at the factory.

We handle exterior door replacement across the St. Louis area, and all three lines are ones we install as a Platinum ProVia dealer and certified installer, as ProVia’s dealer locator shows.

What Each ProVia Door Line Gets

Signet offers the most choices: six skins, 20 stains and 7 glazes. Ascent and Legacy each offer 7 stains and no glazes.

Pick the line first, because it sets the skins and the stains. Each line has its own page with every style: Signet fiberglass doors, Ascent fiberglass doors and Legacy steel doors. If you are comparing companies as well as colors, our St. Louis door company page is the place to start.

Counts come from ProVia’s paint and stain pages.

Paint Colors: 20 Standard and 13 Trending

Dark blue entry door with a narrow sidelite and two small glass windows on a stucco porch

Standard colors run from Snow Mist white to Coal Black. Trending colors add softer shades such as Dusty Rose, Pistachio and Eucalyptus.

Every color is offered on every line. A Signet door in Nightfall and a Legacy steel door in Nightfall draw from the same list of 33.

ProVia paints each door on an automated line. Each of the three lines follows five steps:

  1. The door surface is prepared.
  2. A two-part urethane base coat goes on.
  3. The base coat is oven-cured.
  4. A two-part urethane finish coat goes on.
  5. The door is oven-cured a second time.

ProVia builds each door to order, so the color inside can differ from the color outside.

Stains and Glazes by Door Skin

ProVia applies stain by hand, and the same stain looks different on each skin. A skin is the surface of the door, such as cherry grain, white oak grain or smooth.

Signet Oak, Knotty Alder and Fir Stains (11)

Signet Glazes (7)

Glazes give a weathered look. ProVia offers them on Signet doors with Knotty Alder, Mahogany, Fir, Cherry and Oak skins. You cannot order a glaze on an Ascent or Legacy door.

Ascent White Oak Stains (7)

Legacy Woodgrain Stains (7)

Paint, Stain or Glaze?

  • Paint gives a solid color and the widest choice: 33 colors on every line.
  • Stain lets the grain show, and each skin has its own list of stains.
  • Glaze gives a weathered look and is a Signet option only.

Hold the swatch next to your siding, brick and trim before you decide. ProVia also publishes full exterior color palettes that pair a door color with siding, windows, stone and roofing.

Hardware Finishes by Line

ProVia sells eight entry door hardware lines, and each comes in its own set of finishes. Check the hardware before you lock in a door color.

Planning the whole entry, not just the color? Our front door ideas cover glass, sidelites and taller doors.

Dark Colors and Storm Doors

ProVia advises against Low-E glass on a storm door. The glass lets heat in and holds it in the gap between the two doors. ProVia says that heat can warp the door trim or the whole door.

Gray or bronze tinted storm door glass lets more heat escape, according to ProVia’s storm door guide. Dark paint absorbs more sunlight than light paint, so the gap behind a dark door runs hotter in direct sun.

ProVia’s August 2026 warranty adds two rules for the PermaTech composite frame. No storm door can sit in the same opening. Paint on the exterior frame and brickmold needs a light reflectance value (LRV) of 57 or higher.

White is 100 on the LRV scale and black is 0. The FusionFrame has neither rule. Our guide to ProVia warranty terms covers the rest.

ProVia also orders storm doors in color, so the storm door can match the entry door. Ask which frame comes with your door before you pick a dark color for the frame.

Look at a Real Sample

Monitors and browsers show color differently, and ProVia says its photos can look different from the real door. Ask for a physical sample and look at it outside, in the light your door will get.

Frequently Asked Questions

Legacy steel doors offer color matching for custom paint colors. Ascent Smooth doors let you specify custom hues. ProVia’s Signet page lists no custom option, so ask your dealer before you plan around one.

ProVia says its fiberglass doors, and its steel doors with a woodgrain finish, give the wood look without the upkeep of real wood.

ProVia’s care sheet says to clean the door using mild soap and water, then rinse it and wipe it dry. A scratch or chip gets the touch-up paint that comes with the door, or a wood finish repair crayon. Paint thinner, lacquer thinner, gasoline and kerosene are off limits.

Emtek and Emtek Mortise hardware carry a lifetime mechanical warranty and a lifetime anti-tarnish finish warranty. Ask your dealer for the finish terms on the other lines.

ProVia’s care sheet compares brass to sterling silver, which reacts to the weather. A coat of nonabrasive automotive or furniture wax keeps the finish, it says.

ProVia’s warranty lists factory-applied finishes on the door slab, the metal frame parts and the FusionFrame composite frame parts. The PermaTech composite frame and brickmold arrive unfinished white, and any paint on them has to meet the light reflectance rule above.
